IPPS is the International Plant Phenotyping Networks (IPPN) biennial event, to be held this year in Adelaide, South Australia, with the support of the Australian Plant Phenotyping Facility (APPF).

The biennial symposium brings together an exciting, multidisciplinary community including plant scientists, agronomists, ecologists, engineers, biostatisticians and computer scientists in a rich networking environment to foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, innovation, and the beginning of new partnerships, ideas and research projects. Preeminent speakers from around the world share the latest knowledge in plant phenotyping tools and technologies as well as data management, analysis and visualisation. The symposium theme for 2018, “From Plant, To Data, To Impact”, will include areas such as root and shoot phenotyping in the controlled environment and in the field, robotics, optics, VR, remote sensing, APIs, predictive modelling, big data, machine learning and what the future in precision agriculture may look like.

Satellite meeting in New Zealand following IPPS 2018

Phenotyping Forests – A ppotential game changer for planted forests  |  8 – 9 October 2018  |  Rotorua, New Zealand

Given the long lived nature of plantation forest tree species and the real world environments that they are planted into it has not been possible to easily explore the phenotype of species in planted forests. However, with recent advances in remote sensing it is now possible to collect phenotypic data for trees, relieving the phenotyping bottle neck that has been associated with forestry. The theme of the two day meeting is to explore the advances and opportunities in forest phenotyping and to observe current research activities in one of the largest planted forests in the world. Phenotyping Forests is a satellite meeting following the IPPS 2018. Learn more here. For all enquiries and registrations for the Phenotyping Forests meeting, please contact the organiser: Peter Clinton, Scion Research, Rotorua, New Zealand, email:  Questo indirizzo email è protetto dagli spambots.
