Hosted by AGRIGEOS
AGRIPHEN is the advanced plant phenotyping laboratory of Agrigeos srl, focused on high-precision research in crop physiology, stress responses, and biostimulant performance.
At its core, AGRIPHEN is powered by PlantArray, an innovative gravimetric high-throughput phenotyping system developed by Plant-Ditech Ltd. PlantArray integrates precision lysimeters and individual controllers to continuously measure soil–plant weight dynamics, providing real-time insights into plant physiological responses through dedicated SPAC software and validated models.
The infrastructure is complemented by rhizotrons for root phenotyping, proximal sensing (thermal imaging and NDVI), a multispectral UAV (drone) for canopy-scale assessments, and an in-house metabolomics and physiology laboratory equipped with spectrophotometric tools, enabling an integrated, multi-scale phenotyping approach from roots to canopy.
AGRIPHEN offers a comprehensive portfolio of advanced plant phenotyping services, supporting both applied and experimental research across crops and growing systems. Key services include:
-
High-throughput physiological phenotyping using gravimetric lysimetry (PlantArray) for real-time assessment of transpiration, growth, water-use efficiency, and plant–soil interactions.
-
Abiotic stress characterization (e.g. drought, salinity, nutrient limitations) under controlled and semicontrolled conditions.
-
Biostimulant, fertilizer, and agro-input efficacy trials, including dose–response and application strategy validation.
-
Root system phenotyping through rhizotron-based analysis of root growth dynamics and architecture.
-
Proximal and remote sensing phenotyping, including thermal imaging, NDVI, and multispectral UAV-based canopy assessment.
-
Integrated physiological and metabolomic analyses, supported by in-house spectrophotometric measurements.
-
Custom experimental design, data analysis, and reporting, delivering robust, quantitative, and reproducible phenotyping outputs.
